My Story
I wasn’t sitting in a comfy loft apartment in Manhattan. I couldn’t calm my mind doing yoga on Venice beach before getting back to writing in my Santa Monica Bungalow. I wrote this novel in the Special Housing Unit. The Bureau of Prisons highest punishment.
There were no phone calls, no emails, no lap top to google information. I wrote this novel through processing my mind. Taking a concept and a belief and applying it to fictional characters only in concept. To me, they are real. They are figments of my imagination but yet were the only friends I had. They had different perspectives on life, on how the world should be.
I think most people would assume a novel written through a time of torture would be full of hate. I’ve learned the thing that can never be taken from me, no matter how dire the circumstance, is the choice to love or hate. The choice to forgive. I chose love and I chose to share the love I have for the world through my writing.
Even if you don’t read, please share. If you are a friend of mine or just an internet acquaintance. This novel has a message the world needs to hear. The only way we can change the world for the better is to have a fundamental shift in how we love and care for one another.
Thank you.
Together, We can change the World.
